This morning I saw an artacle on a programme about how last weekend the 6th person involved in the excavation of the "ice mummy" had died in mysterious circumstances. So is the ice mummy cursed? do you believe that someone can put a curse on a person? or a place? and that those who disturb it will come to harm? or is it all just a figment of our imagination
ohh dont I wish
I'm not going to say it can't happen, but it's hard to believe. Lots of things are possible.
anythings possible, sometimes even hard to explain.
I think it's a figment of our imagination, but then again anything can happen.
well if you imagine something enough, it can happen. you can think yourself ill after all, or imagine that someone is watching you, or imagine that you felt something ... and if you think hard enough, then eventually you will start to believe that it's real.
I absolutely believe in curses and places and stories sometimes having the essence of a horrific past attached to them. In Iceland peole strongly believe in elves, even so strongly that they lay down roads around hills that are rumourred to be occupied by elves instead of cutting through them. We have a lot of stories about elves appearing and peopple trying to ruin those hills meeting with horrible accidents. It's a bit of a national tradition almost but well I know of a person who actually injurred himself pretty badly whilst laying a road over such a hill, it's very strange and, well anyone can argue it's just a coinidence but I doubt it. Also I had a really bizarre experience myself, I was shopping for houses in this area and was looking around. I walked into a house that I was looking at and it gave me the chills, there was something horrible about it, I got almost scared, definitely felt very unconfortable. I did some research on it and found out a little girl had been abused and finally murdered there and well I still can feel the shudders from it. And, yeah, again anyone can say it's a made up story or just a coincidence and that's ok but I truly believe that I could sense something in that house. I'm sure these things are blown way out of proportion but I think a place can contain the essence or the memories of suffering and pain and revenge and anger etc and that, in a way, amounts to a curse if you ask me. And I also am convinced there is a lot beyond this world that we do not understand and can affect our daily lives if we have the tallents to recognize it and the ability to see it or theinterest to search it out, I personally do not because I figure that when my time comes I'll get enough chances to explore what lies beyond.

I guess it depends on your definition of curse. I think you're right, in that there's a lot to be said for a house or whatever having an atmosphere, scientists often put it down to energies etc and elecrical and magnetic forces, people who believe a bit more widely put it down to what happened there etc. But I would think that kind of curse is different from the kind of curse that someone could, for example, put on someone, or somewhere, so as for bad luck to befall that person or place.
Aah, as for that curse, I am not sure, I'e nver seen an example that I believe in .. so I'll keep an open mind on it.
what happened in that house has not left a curse but an imprint of the strong emotions felt by the girl, and her killer, quite often as I pointed out in a previous post, traumatic events leave an indeible trace in time which cannot be diluted...the events were too horrific, the emotions too strong and numerous, to be erased..it is not a curse but an unmistakable reminder of what had happened in that house, and everyone who visits the house, will be able to relive a some of the cruelty via the tangible traces left behind by the girl's abuse and murder..
.......
curses can and do work and I am very interested in that particular type of magic they could come in very handy in certain circumstances..
